Michael Bloomberg to address FinanceMalta Annual Conference

The founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies as well as three-term mayor of New York City, Michael R. Bloomberg, will be addressing FinanceMalta Annual Conference which will be held online over three consecutive afternoons between 13 and 15 October 2020, with the Gold Sponsorship of Malta Business.

The theme of the 2020 FinanceMalta Annual Conference is Innovation in Financial Services: gearing up for the new post COVID-19 era.

Malta Business, which in recent months has become a member of FinanceMalta, will be present at the Conference both as sponsor and exhibitor with a virtual stand, through which all visitors will be able to learn about the services offered by our Financial Services consulting agency and for the development of new business projects starting from Malta.

Among the guests who will speak at the various sessions, there will be no shortage of leading figures from Maltese politics and business, starting with Prime Minister Robert Abela, President of FinanceMalta Rudolph Psaila, Minister of Finance and Financial Services Clayton Bartolo, MFSA CEO Joseph Cuschieri and FIAU Director Kenneth Farrugia. These speeches will provide a complete picture of the health and prospects of the sector in Malta over the next few years.

But the expectation is directed in particular to Bloomberg’s address, scheduled on 14 October to introduce the session on the topic of “Sustainable Finance: Assuming Responsibility”.

Michael R. Bloomberg is an entrepreneur and former mayor of New York City whose innovations in government and philanthropy have made him a global leader on climate change, public health, and other critical issues facing America and the world. The technology start-up he launched in 1981, Bloomberg LP, revolutionized the investment industry. Elected mayor just weeks after the 9/11 attacks, Bloomberg led New York City’s resounding recovery, raising high school graduation rates, cutting carbon emissions, and creating a record number of jobs. He has long been committed to saving and improving lives through Bloomberg Philanthropies, and has given away over $9.5 billion.
